James R. Brown

Jim’s financial services industry experience extends over 35 years. He joined Clifford Swan as a principal in 1999, and has an extensive background in trust administration and tax issues as well as financial accounting. In addition to supporting our planned giving practice, Jim is responsible for overseeing the internal operations of the firm.

Prior to joining Clifford Swan, he was Controller for Pilgrim Place in Claremont, a not-for-profit retirement community; a Vice President and Trust Officer for Terre Haute First National Bank in Indiana; and a supervisor at the accounting firm of Ernst & Ernst, serving both audit and tax clients that included not-for-profit organizations, financial institutions, and investment companies.
